Dancing to the music of Murray Rosen, fun and gaming under the direction of emcee Leo Hoffman, and fressing copious amounts of bagels accompanied by the usual spreads were the order of the evening. . A Bit of Humor You can’t fool all of the people all of the time but those highway interchange signs come pretty close. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth-less 40% inheritance tax. “Dear Dad: Thing$ are pretty good here at $chool, but they could be better. $some thing$ are needed mo$t de$perately. The supervisor was accused of making remarks to staff dieti tian Ronnie Korschun such as: •“You know about Jews, Mrs. Korschun. They are pushy and aggrressive.” •“Did you ever see all those lit tle old Jews on Miami Beach? They are so shrivelled up... What is it that all Jews shrink like that?” •“All Jews have money. Look at you... Your husband is a millionaire.” Hospital officials demoted the supervisor, Gloria Fuller, two ranks and her salary was cut for violating a work rule against “rude, antagonistic or offensive conduct toward supervisors, fellow employees or to the public.” Mrs. Fuller sued and was sup ported by the courts for recovery of her lost salary although by then she had been reinstated. The hospital appealed, leading to the present decision by Judge Philip Hubbart of the Third Ehs- trict Court of Appeals. Mrs. Korschun has long since left the employ of the hospital and when advised of the new decision by the court of appeal expressed surprise. The court noted that Mrs. Fuller is a Negro, but stated that this was no excuse. . Community Calendar FEBRUARY-1979 1 - Yiddish Theater 3 - B.B. Hare Krishna Cultists By Arthur Kemelman and Aryeh Rubinstein Jerusalem Post Reporters Tel Aviv police are question ing two members of the Hare Krishna sect, investigating complaints that the group per suades minors to change their religion and violates marriage and compulsory education laws. Interior Minister Yosef Burg told the Knesset last week that a member of the sect has been told by police that minors will not be permitted to enter two Tel Aviv flats the Hare Krishna people use for worship. It is assumed that the minister was referring to the powers given to the police under the recently enacted anti missionary law, which allows them to act on the strength of a complaint from the parent of a minor. It is unclear, however, whethier this has been done in coordination with the attorney- general, who has to approve any use of this law in practice. He was replying to a motion ' for the agenda by Likud MK Yitzhak Yitzhaki. Yitzhaki told the House of the case of a 14- year-old girl, an outstanding pupil in a prestigious North Tel Aviv school, who joined the sect two months ago. She was brainwashed, he said, left school, and is due to be married on Saturday to the head of the sect — who has some 20,000 wives, Yitzhaki said. Burg said that the police were aware of the problem raised by Yitzhaki, and would do their duty. But they could not be ex pected to take the place of parents, who have the main responsibility for educating and looking after their children. Complaints have also been received about fictitious marriages taking place to allow minors to sleep with adult members of the sect, police said. Last week police raided two apartments used by the Hare Krishna people on Rehov Hayarkon and Rehov Weiz- mann in Tel Aviv. A 28-year-old Israeli was arrested at the first address and a 24-year-old American who had married a 14-year-old girl according to the sect’s rituals at the second.
