Chai Group 65 & Over Mr. Ed l^kin, our “current event” lecturer from Central Pied mont Community College, has been an inspiration at our morning sessions. He brings us up-to-date on the latest developments of worldwide news. The afternoon programs are very entertaining. A film, “The Cor al Jungle,” was shown by Betty Place of the Charlotte Library, who explained “life” in the deep sea. Mary Williams of the Mental Health Center discussed relationships, followed by a question and answer period. Ethel Per son, a representative of Duke Power Co., explain^ how small elec trical appliances can cut our electric bills 50%. She demonstrated the use of an electric frying pay^nd electric blender. During the meeting she baked a cake in the electric firying pan, which was pass ed around and enjoyed by all. We are most grateful to Mr. & Mrs. Fred Stem, who donated to our members 20 season tickets for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Our “appreciation luncheon” was given by CPCC to honor the older adult program instructors. Horty Fogelson, who represented our art group, praised the technique of Beverly Howard, our art teacher. We welcomed two new members to the art class this month. They were referred to us by CPCC. By this time the raffle bopks are ready for distribution. The prizes are a beautiful picture painted by Beverly Howard, and a lovely afghan crocheted by Mrs. Sadoff.
