JCC Presents
Women's Viciws
The Adult education com
mittee of the JCC is happy to
present a new series of one-day
programs for women, known as
“Women’s View”. The first of
these, entitled “Every Wise
Woman Buildeth Her House”

on their home and family. .It’s
holiday time! And. when we
think of holidays • especially
Jewish ones - we think of FOOD.
In the morning session, two of
our very own “Jewish cooks”,
Janet Lefkowitz and Peggy Gar
tner, will prepare a variety of
traditional Jewish foods, in
cluding the making of challah,
which will then be served as the
luncheon fare, In the afternoon.
Rabbi Richard Rocklin of Tem
ple Israel will discuss the vital
role of today’s Jewish woman in
her home. It is hoped that this
day will provide “food” for
thought as well as palates and
bring a renewed sense of pur
pose to the ever-challenging
task of keeping Judaism alive
within our homes. Come to this
exciting program on Wed., Sept.
26th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
$4.50/members and $6/non-^

Successful Aquatic Program
Central Piedmont’s two programs in water movement which
began with the swim season at the JCC are flowing along splendid-
. ... , ,
Instructor, Abby Hoffman, says that she has seen body
strengthening and more relaxed movement in both the Chai group
and the near-to-newly retired participant?. Much of the course in
volves learning to breathe efficiently on land and in water, and
poup and personal experience moving in the pool. Abby explains,
“I am not concerned just with swim as a water exercise. Walking,
jumping, skipping, and stroking in the pool provide unlimited
benefits to the individual concerned with mind and body fitness.”
_The Chai group pa^cipants were recently photographed and
videotaped, documenting the program as a pilot for future such
aquatic classes with adults over 60.
