Mi # Chai On December 14 we had our annual Chanukah lun cheon for our Chai group. This party is to honor and thank our carpool drivers and subs for their kindness to our group; without them, believe it or not, we could not even meet and imagine not having a CHAI group!!! The CHAI happens to be a very important club to these people. To many of the members it is a means of meeting with friends their own age, to enjoy the ac tivities, the lectures and the art class. Otherwise all they would look forward to would be a trip to the grocery. It is important to keep CHAI alive for all these members. Our faithful drivers who do this every Monday are: Estelle Hirsch, Sally Schrader, Micky Waldman, Fairlyn Levine, Alice Schreiber (prior to her leav ing for Florida), Lina Levine. Ruth Dorian, Helga Rosenberger, Beverly Montezinos, Sylvia Sadof^ Use Bei‘gen and Sam Jaffe. Our substitute drivers are: Lil Bienstock, Sally Winokuer, Doris Fligel, Helene Patton, Eileen Darholt and Helen Sun- dheimer. At this luncheon the drivers all received gifts, such as books, and the regulars also received cer tificates of appreciation. Sylvia Sadofff presented a check to Bob Abel for the JCC. The money came from our recent successful raffle. Our sincere thanks to Violet Adler who was in charge of this luncheon. A lot of the delicious food and the gifts were donated by some very caring people and we thank each and every one of them. ^ And last, but not least, the CHAI presented Use Bergen a gift in appreciation of all that she does for this club. It’s a time consuming and at times aggravating job, but she does it all with a smile, and so WE LOVE HER!!
