The Lodge has determined that one of the biggest problems, especially for young pros pective members, is the mat ter of money. In an effort to make becoming a new member of the Charlotte Lodge easier, it is offering an arrangement that it feels will be both worthwhile for you and the Lodge. The plan is simply an in stallment payment plan for paying dues and volunteer service fund. This is the plan in its simplest form: Lodge dues are $58.50 for the year; you would give the Lodge a deposit of $15 with an addi tional 3 payments of $15 per month. You would receive a statement the first of each month as a reminder. The ad ditional $1.50 will be used to offset the cost of printing for statements and mailings. The Volunteer Service Fund contribution for the Lodge is $16.50 per year and if you choose to include the VSF then you would have 5 equal payments of $15 per month. If there are any questions about this, please feel free to call Allan Silber at 542-9935 or Alan Hirsch at 333-6564 or 365-1194. The Lodge needs the support of the communi ty in all its efforts and it is doing its best to make it as easy as possible for everyone in the community to be able to take part in its efforts. Please take advantage of this payment plan in support of your Lodge and please get involved with its activities in any way that you can. Fire Extinguisher and Smoke Detector Sale The members of Charlotte B’nai B’rith Lodge have undertaken a project for the community that is, they feel, very important to the safety of our community. The Lodge will be delivering smoke detectors and fire ex tinguishers to members of the community who have placed orders for these units. The delivery dates are to be November 7 and 14. Anyone who did not receive the mailer that was sent out or who has decided that their home or business needs the protection of either smoke detectors and/or fire ex tinguishers, please feel free to call Allan Silber, 542-9935, or Alan Hirsch, 333-6564 or 365-1194, to place your orders or for additional informa tion. The Charlotte Fire Depart ment has given The Lodge their full support for this project because of the large, danger, in both homes and businesses, from the dangers of undetected fires due to the lack of smoke detectors. The prices that the Lodge is offering on these units are more than competitive with units being sold in the local stores and will also enable the Lodge to maintain its high standards in communi ty service that it has had over the past 105 years.
