It was a lovely evening and the following officers were in stalled for the 1983-84 term: President—Dorothy Sha-_ piro; VP Special Projects— Roberta Malickson; VP Education—Marcia Stern; VP Programs—Ellen Satlof; VP Membership —Pam Silberman; Recording Secretary—Debbie Jackson; Financial Secretary—Lydia Kohn; and Treasurer— Cathy Katz. Chairwomen of the various committees throughout the year also received special recognition of thanks, and flowers were presented to all new officers and chairwomen. Also honored with a ORT pin were the women who had reached **Honor Roll” status. This level is achieved by donating $60 worth of contributions or service time to the organiza tion throughout the year. It is the time of year when membership renewal notices are again being mailed and it is hoped that all members will send in their re enrollment dues quickly to avoid the costs of further mailings. Remember that all costs for mailings reduce the amount of funds available to help support the ORT schools and programs around the world. So please pay your dues when you receive your first notice, so that more money will be available to promote our worthwhile causes and to fight the ignorance of anti- Semitic elements such as the KKK and Nazis. ORT held a successful bake sale at the JCC on July 3. Special thanks go to Sharon Gold and Roberta Malickson for organizing this event and to all of the members who contributed by baking their delicious specialities. Another bake sale will be held on Sunday, August 21 at the JCC. Make plans now to contribute with your baked goods and be sure to stop by that day to purchase some goodies yourself. Our Fall Flea Market will be held Sunday, September 25. Please start now to save your clothes, books and any saleable items that you can donate. You will receive a tax-deduction and Honor Roll credit for all items donated. Watch for addi tional details in next mon th's column. —Ellen Cooper Community Calendar The Calendar Committee is hard at work putting together the 1983-1984 Com munity Calendar.
