Campers renewed old friend ships and got a peek at what Camp M accabee would offer them this summer. Highlights of the afternoon included being “introduced” to Camp Maccabee’s new bus, finding little hidden Mac- ca“bees,” designing this sum mer’s camp “T” shirt, playing games outside and singing around the camp fire. Thanks to Jesse Brown for bringing the outside in with a wonderful camp display com plete with a tent, canoe, sleep ing bag, and camp fire. All campers were given a taste of stroganoff cooked camp style and special freeze dried ice cream! With the help of several teenagers interested in counseling positions this sum mer, Marvin Bienstock’s talent on the guitar, and a big cooler of bug juice, a camp spirit was generated. If you missed the camp reu nion, talk with someone who went, then call the JCC so you don’t miss the fun this sununer. Club 23 On February 26 the Scout Hut on Sardis Road was transformed into a Karate arena as the “Mighty Mights” gave Club 23 a sample of what makes them trophy winners. Dressed in traditional white uniforms with colored sashes Md barefeet, the 6-9 year olds impressed everyone with their punches, kicks and board breaking. After the exhibition, it was the club members’ turn to get into the act. Under the leadership of Dale Denny, coach of the Mighty Mites, members learned basic karate movements, concentration and important self defense techniques. Once we had had a good workout we enjoyed fortune cookies, juice and relaxation. Kee-aah!!! One of the prospective campers watches a worker from Jesse Brown’s prepare the camp equipment. The children learned of the new things that will happen during summer '84. Note tent in background. Club 46 Club 46 held their last Club meeting on February 26 at the Scout Hut on Sardis Road. Club members and prospective members gave campaign speeches and elections for President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer were held. Our new officers are Stuart Gordan, President; Daniel Weinstock, Secretary; and Sarit Massachi, Treas urer. Mazel Tov to aU new officers!
