In addition to the induction of new board members, there will be a few brief speeches focusing on the Center’s current status and bright future. All members of the community are invited to attend and exchange ideas with the Center’s leadership. Refreshments will be served. The Jewish Community Center invites you and your family to join in the excite ment and festivities planned for our initial tour of the new Center facilities. The tour will take place on Sunday, April 14, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. We Eire planning self-conducted tours, guided by maps and ar rows. Tour guides will be sta tioned at various locations to answer questions about the services and programs plann ed for specific areas. “Happen ings” or demonstrations of potential activities, including music, dance and athletics, will take place throughout the afternoon. Everyone who attends will receive a raffle ticket, meiking them eligible for a free health club membership drawing in the fall. Custom-made buttons and “Imagination Tour” maps will serve as mementos of this historic day. Refreshments will be served from the snack bar and kitchen areas. All members of the com munity are welcome to attend the JCC Annual meeting and election at the construction site immediately following the tour. Transportation will be pro vided for those who need assistance. Arrangements can be made by calling the JCC, 366-0357. A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, April 21. Louise Bernstein Terri Cathcart Gene Daumit B€n Jaffa Barry Kaye Paula Musler Harry Swimmer Southeast Small Cities ConSereiice To Convene Volunteer and professional leaders of Southeast Small Cities will convene to discuss “Challenges and Opportuni ties for Jewish Federations, May 17-19, at the Desoto Hil ton in Savannah, Georgia. Norton Melaver of Savannah is chairman of the event. Designed to address the specieJized concerns of small cities in the Southeast, the Conference will include a wide variety of key issues facing Jewish leaders, considered from the perspective of small communities in the geographic area. Dr. Reuven Kimelman of Brandeis University will deliver the keynote address at the Shabbat dinner, and serve as scholar in residence throughout the Conference. Associate Professor of Talmud and Midrash in the Brandeis Depsirtment of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, Dr. Kimelman holds bachelor degrees from both Columbia University and Jewish Theological Seminary, a Master’s degree from JTS, and Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Yale University. He is the Chief Program Associate of the National Jewish Resource Center.
