In the words of one student, “Going to JAI classes has become an enriching experience in my life. It has increased my attach ment to Judaism and has given me an expanded aw£u*e- ness of Judaism which I can instill in my children.” “That was the exact goal and purpose of the JAI,” said Ruth Goldberg, chair of the Federation Outreach Commit tee which coordinated the establishment of the JAI. “We know from the over 100 evaluation forms we have received back from the students, that this student’s sentiments are shared by all her fellow learners. “We have tapped into two wellsprings. The first is a yearning on the part of so many in our community to fill m the missing pieces of their Jewishness and Jewish know ledge. The second is the well- spring of skilled, talented Jewish educators we have in the form of our Rabbis, direc- Project Progress (Cont’d from p. 1) beehives of busy carpenters, electricians, plumbers and skilled craftspeople from dozens of trades and occupa tions.
