Page 10-THE NEWS-August, 1985 In And Around The JCC Farewell From Irene Komor Dear Friends. Many of you know I’m leaving the JCC, but for those of you who don’t let me make it official. In the fall, I’m going back to graduate school in guidance and counseling at UNCC while I am awaiting the birth of Leo’s (my husband) and my child in January. Thanks to your support of the JCC’s children’s programs, I’ve learned more about children’s development than from any text. I’m sure my new knowledge will be put to the test. Meanwhile, Camp Maccabee is a blast! Everyone is having fun and we have a wonderful staff. The last session of camp, August 12-23 at Gus Purcell Day Camp in Matthews, promises to be a wonderful learning experience in a beautiful natural envirorunent. The following week, beginning August 26, Mother’s Morning Out (MMO) will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In early October, children’s classes will begin and continue for one ten-week or two five-week sessions through mid-December. With your support the JCC can continue to offer high quality programming for your children. Again let me thank those who have supported the JCC children’s programs by volunteering their services and by con tinuing to bring their children to the mjriad program locations. My gratitude to everyone who has helped me through stressful moments with a warm, encouraging word. My best wishes for a good year to all of you. I look forward to chance encounters with you and your children throughout the year.
