November Meeting
Ha Lailah’s November
meeting was a huge success.

VIP service taught us about
fashion and presented meikeup
by Estee Lauder and hair
designs by Directives.

Ha Lailah is selling the
Entertainment ’86 books. The
price for the books has remain
ed the same but they are fill
ed with many new and inter
esting things. For your $20

30. This was the chapter’s
fifth year of hospital visits to
the children on Halloween.

Contrary to popular belief,
ORT is alive and growing in
Chgtflotte. We have had a busy
autumn of membership teas
and are proud to welcome our

nion, Lori Sklut, Lenora Stein
and Jean Strauss.
Our October event was en
joyed by all those who were
present to hear Dr. Barbara
Ballard Wheeler speak about
women and sexuality.
The next three months pro
mise to be exciting and busy
ones. On December 11, join us
to meet Rabbi Marc Wilson
and hear what he has to say
about “Facing the Annual
Christmas Dilemma.” We will
also hold a Chanukah
candlelighting service to be
held at the home of Cathy
Katz, 1200 Kingscross Drive.
January heralds a
phonathon and our annual
ORT Sabbath, to be held this
year at Temple Israel. In
February we look forward to a
“Polaroid and Pizza Party.”

Temple Beth El
The Men’s Club’s monthly
Sunday morning breakfast met
with much success again on
November 17 at which a discus
sion was held on the historical
background of apartheid in
South Africa. Discussion
leaders were Harry Berzack and
Ms. Leslie Hill-Davidson, both
of whom were able to speak
authoritatively through direct
personal experience.
The Men’s Club will also be
sponsoring a New Year’s Eve
Party to be held at Fellowship
Hall of the Temple. The $15
charge per person will include a
live band, hors d’oeuvres, set
ups, favors and a catered dinner
by the House of Hunan. For

The Sisterhood, too, has been
very busy. Gladys Lavitan and
her inimitable book reviews
were featured at the Joint
Sisterhood meeting on Nov. 14.
The annual attic sale will be held
Dec. 15-17. Rabbi Harold
Krantzler spoke to the con
gregation at Shabbat services
on Nov. 8 about the Biennial
Convention of the Union of
American Hebrew Congrega
tions which he recently attend
ed in Los Angeles. Other
representatives at the conven
tion were Helen Krantzler,
Roland and Jane Heller, and
Sally Schrader.
Temple Beth El joined seven
churches in an Interfaith
Thanksgiving service on Nov.
27 at Friendship Baptist
Church.
Lenora Stein has joined the
temple staff as a part-time
religious school librarian.
The Confirmation Class
recently visited Cincinnati, the
cradle of American Reform
Judaism, where they toured the
Hebrew Union College and the
historic Plum Street Temple.
