Beth El*s Bintel Brief The Temple again played host to the Community-Wide Young Children’s Service on April 12. Pre-school and kindergarten children engaged in a brief service and then pro ceeded to Fellowship HaU for a light Sabbath lunch. Stories, songs and dances were includ ed in a happy Jewish context. The evening of April 12 marked the First Annual “STING,” a well-attended ^d well-received fund raising event cochaired by Rita Mond and Bob Zipp. It was so suc cessful that everyone wants to know when the next one will be held. It would not have been such a terrific evening without the tremendous ef forts of the other members of the conunittee: Dr. Mark and Cathy Katz, Joe Tuckman, and Estelle and Murray Rosen; the many volunteers who worked tirelessly at the “tables” and the food conces sion; the generous contribu tors of the endless number of lovely prizes. Todah Rabah. An initial organizational meeting of a discussion group was called for April 6 by the Adult Education Chairman, Dr. Sam Zimmem. Partici pants based their conmients on articles appearing in Mo ment magazines, the respected periodica] dealing with con temporary Jewish affairs. On April 25, at the regular Sabbath Service, Rabbi Krantzler spoke on Mendels sohn’s Oratoria “Elijah” and at the Oneg Shabbat foUow- ing, the congregants heard it together on taped T.V. as sung by the Oratorio Singers of Charlotte. At the closing session of the Combined Religious School on May 25, the children will make a special presentation in honor of Rabbi and Mrs. Krantzler for their 10 years of service at Beth El. — Roland Heller For Advertising caii 366-9715 or 366-6632 .
