Our Organizations Marcia Simun Marcia Simon was installed as president of the Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah at the May meeting at the Tower Club. Ethel Firestone, who was Hadassah’s President in 1956, honored the proceedings by acting as installing officer. Also, the membership honored Barbara Levin, outgo ing President, with the presen- t at ion of a beautifully inscrib ed silver bowl. Mr. Yosef Yaacov, Consul General of the Israeli Em bassy in Washington, D. C., was guest speaker, providing an update on Israel topics. In addition to Marcia Simon, other officers installed were Linda Segel, VP Pro gramming: Pam Segal, VP Membership: Ellen Fligel and Leslie Locke. VPs Fundrais ing: Raenea Siegel. VP Educa tion; Lenora Stein. Recording Secretary: Hushie Silverstein, Corresponding Secretary; Diane Rosenberg, Financial Secretary and Diane Schwartz, Treasurer. The Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah. with 425 members, represents the largest branch in North Carolina. Hadassah is having a paid up Membership Luncheon at the JCC on September 17. II PIZAZZ: What bettor way to spend a balmy Sunday evening than listen ing to music in the park. That’s what 20 Pizazz singles did June 22. The lodge spon sored a cook-out with kids from single-parent families in the Jewish community. Lloyd Scher provided the hospitality and driving force while Phil's Deli donated all of the food. We are very grateful to Phil Levine for his generosity. We were able to match up several kids with Jewish “Big Brothers” through this event.
