Page 14-THE NEWS-September, 1986 Temples Cosponsor Services (cont'd from page 1) Temple Israel and Temple Beth El V’Shalom to be held at Temple Beth El beginning at 8 p.m. He will speak again at Temple Israel’s Shabbat morning service. On Sunday morning at 11 a.m., Mr. Siegel will conduct the dedication ceremonies for the religious schools of the two temples, for the Hebrew Academy and for the newly Black Tie Gala (cont’d from page 1) centers throughout the South east. They are five singers and four instrumentalists: Marsha Colbert-Smith, Rebecca Flem ing, Pam Simpson, Tommy Coker and Jerry Colbert, vocalists; Stanley Colbert and Kathy Sipe are comusical directors and keyboard play ers; Bruce Dailey is percus sionist and Phil Brown is base guitarist. Separately, they have ties to musical theater productions at CPCC, dinner theatre, regional jazz clubs and dramatic theater. Stanley Colbert has been guest con ductor with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and assistant conductor of the Oratorio Singers; besides com posing and arranging for the Cabaret Company, he is on the UNCC faculty and is Tarradid- dle Players musical director. Their program has been specially composed for this special evening. The evening’s invited guests will include: Governor and Mrs. James Martin, Mayor and Mrs. Harvey Gantt and Congressman and Mrs. Alex McMillan. Also appearing on the program and a guest for the evening is Ms. Esther Leah Ritz, immediate past president of the Jewish Welfare Board, the parent organization of all Jewish Community Centers. A tremendous amount of thoughtful planning has been generated by the chairwomen of this event, Bobbi (Mrs. Don) Bernstein, Anita (Mrs. Her man) Blumenthal, Sandra (Mrs. Leon) Levine and Jill (Mrs. Ed) Newman. They and the following have given generously of their time, talents and creative energies to this premier event: Louise Bernstein (invitations); Sue Applebaum, Lee Blumenthal, Rhoda Gleiberman, Fay Green, (mailings); Barbara Levin and Barbara Zelickson (reservations); Baila Pransky (publicity); Mimi Feibus and Mary Wojnowich (decora tions); Mattye Silverman and Marcia Simon (souvenir pro gram); Evelyn Berger, Mar^e Goldstein and Morris Speiz- man (entertainment coor dinators). with staff assistance from Marvin Bienstock, ex ecutive director of Federation. Invitations were mailed to all Foundation donors. The dedication will take place in the Blumenthal Education Building at Shalom Park. The families and friends of all students in these schools are invited to attend and participate. Danny Siegel received a B. S. in Comparative Litera ture from Columbia Universi ty and a B. H. L. (Bachelor of Hebrew Literature) in Bible and Talmud from the Jewish Theological Seminary from which he alwo received a M. H. L. through the Rabbin ical School. He has lectured and taught all over the U. S. and Canada. Wherever he has been, he has touched everyone within the range of his voice.
