Page 5-THE NEWS-October,1986 Hebrew Academy News Exciting Changes Are Taking Place At The Hebrew Academy According to Chassidic philosophy, moving to a new house brings with it a new beginning and new luck. Already we see this taking place at the Hebrew Academy, since moving to Shalom Park. The atmosphere is charged with positive energy, and a fresh confidence in the future. We are thrilled to introduce two new members to our staff: Stu Epstein and Cathy Sider- man. Stu is the director of Health and Physical Educa tion at the JCC. He and his qualified staff will be offering a full physical education pro gram for our children. Cathy is the director of the Arts and Crafts program. She has taught for memy years at Spirit Square and the Com munity School of the Arts. She will be instructing the children with creative and imaginary art projects. The addition of these courses is indicative of the school’s constant striving to enhance the development of our secular education in addi tion to the excellent Judaic program. We are all striving toward inner peace and harmony. In order to do so, we must con stantly reassess our belief systems and look beyond our physical world toward a deeper understanding and meaning of life. The study of the Torah is the study of life itself. Our children remain our most precious resources and our goal at the Academy is to give them an opportunity to partake in this study so they may reach their full potenti^ as Jews as well as unique and special individuals. Our past, present and future are all intertwined. The learn ing, remembering, and becom ing part of the traditions, values and customs that have been handed down from ^ner- ation to generation wiU con tinue to keep the Jews as one family and to bring about “ Shalom-al-Israel.” From Berta Straz, our ad ministrator staff and children, we wish you all Shana Tova Tikatevu!!! — Cheryl Spangenthal Ziva London with students enjoying the use of the gymnasium at Shalom Park.
