She stated that the Charlotte Women’s Division’s 1987 goal of $125,000 was earmarked to support the growing demands of the Charlotte Jewish com munity as well as to improve the quality of life for Jews wherever they reside. Emily outlined the Lion of Judah program which actively began in Charlotte last year. She recognized the outstanding commitment to strengthen all aspects of Women’s Division’s goals made by Lion of Judah donors: Anita Blumenthal, Bobbie Bernstein, Pearl Kier, Gloria Lerner and the newest Lion of Judah recipient, Renee Gorelick.
