V 704/333-6694 The Chai-Lltes have been in volved in a number of varied and exciting programs lately. On Oct. 20, Chai members decorated the JCC Succah with vegetables they had created from rattan placemats in their arts and crafts class. Afterwards, Lisa Vernon demonstrated the etrog and lulav and played her guitar for Succoth. On Oct. 22, Gladys Lavitan led very stimulating book reviews on The Book of Abraham by Myrick Halter and The Doctor and the Damned by Dr. Albert Haas. Then, the Chai-Lites joined the four-year-old classes of Temple Israel Daily School for Deli Day. In regards to the Lunch eon Club, the members collec tively select and visit a restaurant of their choice once a month. In October approx imately fifteen persons ate lunch at Shun Lee. The drawing for the raffle was held on Nov. 3. The lucky winners were Joshua Good man, Terri Cathcart, Robert Greenberg, Sylvia Speizman and Carol Voynow. I would like to thank all who donated an item for the raffle in addi tion to everyone in the com munity who made a monetary donation. The funds from this raffle support programs for the Chai-Lites and will enable us to enrich and expand the activities. On Dec. 22, Brenda and Ir win Manes of The Insurance Mart of Charlotte will present a program entitled “The ABC’s of Medicare”. After wards, a pre-Chanukah party will be held for the group. New members are welcome at any time.
