Page 13-THE NEWS-DecemberJ986 New Lubavitch Family Arrives in Charlotte Lubavitch of North Carolina announces the arrival of a new Lubavitch couple to Charlotte. Rabbi Binyomin Weiss and his wife Chanie will join the staff of Lubavitch of North Carolina. The Rabbi will serve as program director and Chanie will teach at the pre school. Since its inception in Charlotte, Lubavitch has con ducted many educational pro grams in the community. In order to fill all the re quests which come to the Lubavitch office from many people in this community and other conununities throughout North Carolina, it was impor tant to bring in an additional Lubavitch family who will assist greatly with the various ongoing activities, and new ones as well. Rabbi Weiss and his wife and new bom baby will live in Charlotte, not far from the Chabad House. The Weiss Family. Rabbi Weiss, born and rais ed in Pittsburg, attended Rab binical College of America in Morristown N.J. He later went on to study at Rabbinical School in Montreal, Canada. He was sdso part of an envoy group sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to found a Lubavitch Rabbinical School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Eventually Rabbi Weiss received his or dination at the Central Lubavitcher Yeshivah in Brooklyn, N.Y. Chanie Weiss studied at the Beth Rivkah Girls School in Brooklyn and graduated from their highly acclaimed Teachers Seminary. She also directed several children’s summer camps in this country and in Europe. Chanie has been teaching Judaica at the Lubavitch Girls School in Brooklyn and she has excelled in teacher and student rapport. Rabbi and Mrs. Weiss look forward to working in the Charlotte community. They plan to initiate many new educational programs which will serve well to increase Jewish awareness among young and old. The Lubavitch outreach pro gram is available to all Jewish communities throughout the Carolinas.
