Ongoing Socials and a Special Meeting In early December, a group of newcomers met with leaders of the institutions at the home of Ron Katz, Federation Presi dent. They shared their im pressions and concerns as newcomers and were able to discuss with' the leaders positive ways in which newcomers could be inte grated into the community. In December and January, Shalom Y’all, in addition to weekly meetings, held two social evenings which were ex tremely well attended. Newcomers Defined Shalom Y'all considers three kinds of individuals as newcomers. The first are re cent arrivals in Charlotte. The second are persons who may have lived in Charlotte for a long time but have just chosen to become involv^ed in some new aspect of Jewish life. The third group are Jews by Choice, men and women in the process of conversion. Chair of Shalom Y'all is Ms. Sandra Weinstein. Chair of the weekly group and programs is Geri Zhiss.
