Page 13-THE NEWS March, 1987 chai-chaverim BBG The Charlotte—Jerusaleiti Connection Chai-Chaverim BBG was kept very busy this past month working on the Sweetheart-Beau Dance which was held on Feb. 14, Meiny of our friends came in from Greensboro, Wilmington, Fayetteville, Raleigh and even Virginia. At the dance, Patricia Ades was announced as the ’87 Sweetheart; David Rosen was selected as ’87 Beau. Chosen for court were: Evan Bernstein, Laurie Bruck, Caitlin Elber, Allison Good man, Sherry Gugenheim, Rona Karacaova and Alison Tepper. Joel Asrael, Brian Hitt, Rael Gorelick, Bobby Pesakoff, Scott Rosenberg, Scott Shapiro and Seth Somerstein also were on court. Chai-Chaverim is getting in to shape! We’re working out every Sunday with aerobics, jogging, walking and on Feb. 22 we had a lesson in self- defense. On Feb. 8, we entertained at the Older Adult Luncheon that was given by HaLailah B’nai B’rith Women. The latest craze is Gummi Bears and Gummi Worms and we sold them both along with Tin-o-Notes. TUPPERWARE ladies have the freshest ideas for locking in freshness: Chai- Chaverim BBG is selling Tup- perware through Mar. 15. On Mar. 4 there will be a Tupper- ware Party. Theme for the day is “Frontiers of Ex cellence: Medical Miracles at Hadassah and Charlotte Memorial Hospitals.” Through our visit to Charlotte Memorial Hospital, including the new state of the art Carolina Heart Institute (which is currently under con struction), the doctors will compare and contrast many of the projects currently under way at both Hadassah Hospital and Charlotte Memorial. We will gain a bet ter understanding of what happens to our Hadassah Medical Organization con tributions and how important we are in helping to further healing and research.
