Charlotte Chapter BBW
In celebration of BBW’s
90th birthday, the Charlotte
Chapter, in conjunction with
HaLailah, has requested
Mayor Harvey Gantt to pro
claim August 18 as B’nai
B’rith Women Day. A year of
celebration activities are being
planned by “National” in
honor of BBW’s many achieve
ments since its inception.
A membership brunch was
held at President Beth Linder-
man’s home on July 29. Pro
spective members, as they en
joyed refreshments, learned
more about BBW, its pro
grams and CVS activities.
Saturday, August 8 at 7:30
p.m. is our annual pool party
to be held at the home of Reg
gie and Myron Wittlin. We
will enjoy pizza, drinks and
dancing. Cost is $15 per cou
ple; your check is your reser

Hospital followed by an infor
mative slide show and tour of
MMAE's Inn-Mecklenburg
Medical Auxiliary Endow
ment. MMAE’s Inn is a
residential home where out-of-
town family members can stay
while their loved ones are
hospitalized. Charlotte
Chapter members will give
volunteer time at the Inn act
ing as hostesses, and collec
ting canned and paper goods
for use by the guests. To

HaLailah Chapter of B’nai B’rith Women is proud to an
nounce their achievements at this year’s Mid-Atlantic Regional
Conference held in Virginia Beach. The chapter and chapter
members were recipients of the following awards:
• Best on-going project — 1st place
• Best individual chapter meeting — 1st place
• Best over-aU meeting programming — 2nd place
• Best comprehensive conununity service — 2nd place
• Most outstanding single project — 3rd place
• Best chapter meeting with membership focus — 2nd place
• Bulletin Award — 3rd place
• Silver Menorah Award — Wendy Rosen
• Greatest percentage net gain membership (101-200
members) — 1st place
• Club Ten membership award — Claire Putterman
• Reaching membership campaign goal

HaLailah also congratulates its newest life members: Mad-
die Joffe, Florence Jaffa, Jessie Sachs, Dayle Fligel and Claire
Putterman.
The first membership tea for 1987-1988 was held June 23 at
the home of Maddie Joffe. Current members familiarized pro
spective members, all of whom joined, of HaLailah’s goals and
activities. It was a lovely evening of fun, information and
delicious chocolate desserts.
All of our membership teas will revolve around the theme
“Spin a Winner with HaLailah’s Wheel of Fortune!”. Anyone
interested in finding out more about HaLailah BBW, call Lin
