Page 18-THE NEWS-October, 1987 Our Organizations Hadassah To Hold Annual Donor Luncheon The Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah donor luncheon and fashion show has become one of the most popular and well attended meetings of the Jewish women in our commu nity. This year’s luncheon will be held on Wed., October 28, at the Marriott City Center at 11:30 a.m. Coplons will provide the elegant fashions to be shown by “The Mannequins o'/ Charlotte”, the professional models organization. BBW Charlotte Chapter September 8 marked the start of a busy season for BBW’s Senior Women. Ruth Gould supplied and taught a painting project for greeting cards and Thelma Levy ar ranged a great lunch donated by the Great Wall of China. Pumpkins for Pediatrics There will be an open board meeting and pumpkin-making on Monday, Oct. 19 at 2323 KingsmiU Terrace. The pump kins wiU be delivered to the pa tients in the pediatric wards of Memorial and Presbyterian Hospitals and to the children of Arosa House. For more in formation call Beth Linder- man, 542-9866. Personal Giving One hundred and thirty members and guests attended the Personal Giving luncheon at Shalom Park on Sept. 2. Irma Gertler, International President of B’nai B’rith Women, spoke of her visit to the Children’s Home in Israel. This residential home for emo tionally disturbed boys receives a Izu-ge percentage of our donations during this special fundraising campaign. Stories about the boys touched our hearts as we heard of the last chance the Children’s Home gives them. Thanks go to all who helped plan this event and to those who gave so generously. The Charlotte Chapter of B’nai B’rith Women and the Mecklenburg Council on Adolescent Pregnancy are cosponsoring a special evening on AIDS education. It is being held on October 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Shalom Park and is open to all, admission free. The program consists of a video on AIDS followed by a panel discussion moderated by B.J. Harrison, health beat reporter, WSOC-TV. Panel members include: Dr. Jared Schwartz, Chairman of the N.C.
