Page 5-THE NEWS-April, 1988 Charlotte Jewish Day School CJDS Represented at County Science Fair Students in Mrs. Bronson’s class have been working very hard and diligently on their en tries for the Mecklenburg County Science Fair. Each child had a wonderful pre sentation £ind it showed by their results. We had Mr. Noel Bronson, a former science teacher, come and hear the students present their pro jects. Mr. Bronson then had the task of picking a first place winner to represent the school at the Science Fair which was held at UNCC on March 11 emd 12. After much deliberation, Mr. Bronson chose a project entitled “Blockage of the Cor onary Artery.” This project was a combined effort made by Mischa Fuerstman £ind Ory Warshenbrot, fifth graders. In their presentation, the students expl£iined their hy pothesis, background informa tion, the how and why of a heart attack, the experimenta tion £md investigation process, Sara Seiferheld, presenting her Science Fair project. procedure, results and their conclusions. In evaluating the exhibits and selecting a winner the judges had to consider cre ativity and originality of the project, the scientific thought process, thoroughness and the effective presentation of the demonstration. We were de lighted to participate in such an endeavor, and look forward to many more opportunities to include our students in local fairs in the Charlotte Mecklen burg area.
