ELEMENTARY OPTIONS
CAMP MACCABEE
Entering grades K-6 (Sept. 1988)
Kindergarten children placed at parents’ discretion
Katan or Maccabee
Camp Maccabee offers a full day program
designed to meet the social, recreational and
cultural needs of the elementary age child.
Mature counselors and experience specialists
provide close supervision. Maccabee campers
will explore a full range of activities including:
arts & crafts, drama, music, dance, ceramics,
cookouts, Judaic programming. Red Cross in
structional swimming and recreational swim
daily, special theme days, events, shows, games,
sports, late nights and overnights, field trips,
nature study and more special surprises. This
is the camp for the child who would like to ex
perience a variety of activities and strengthen
skills in every area.
CAMP KESHET (Camp Creative)
Entering grades 4-6 (^pt. 1988)
Camp Keshet offers each camper the oppor
tunity to nurture his/her creativity. During each
three-week session yo\ir child will be immersed
in one of the following areas: During Session 1,
campers will explore the graphic and visual arts;
drama and related activities in Session 2; music,
dance and art during Session 3. Sign up for the
area you love or try them all. Trained instruc
tors will provide the inspiration and the exper
tise for these “artists to be” to explore their
creative potential. Keshet campers also will par
ticipate in Red Cross instructional swimming
and recreational swimming daily. Campers will
also have the opportunity to enjoy the JCC
facilities, field trips, overnights, nature explora
tion and more.
HORSEBACK RIDING
(4-6 Graders)
Campers enrolled in this program wiU be
bused to a local stable for one hour of riding.
Emphasis will be on the fundamentals of riding
and grooming techniques.
CAMP RUACH (Sports)
Entering grades 4-6 (Sept. 1988)
A camp for the sports minded youngster.
Camp Ruach is designed to help young athletes
of all abilities to learn and improve their skiUs
and strategy through teamwork and coopera
tion in a variety of sports. Skilled coaches and
x:ounselors, using the JCC's exceUent facilities
and equipment, work with campers to maximize
the learning experience — and the fun. Instruc
tional periods in the morning and afternoon con
sist of tennis through the camp season; soccer
in Session 1; basketball in Session 2; softbaU in
Session 3. This in-depth instruction is com
plemented by swimming, trips, camp-wide pro
grams and more creative programming that
round out the day. Campers go home feeling
good about themselves and their progress.
CHAVERIM COMPUTER CAMP
Entering grades 4-6 (Sept. 1988)
Put away the Pac-Man and the Galaga; save
those quarters and leam how to program and
play a real computer. There’ll be lots and lots
of individual hands-on computer time with a
qualified instructor individually assisting you
with programs and geunes. In the afternoons
Chaverim campers will participate in a broad
camping experience including Red Cross swim
ming instruction and recreational swim daily,
arts and crafts, nature, dance, overnights,
cookouts and more special surprises.
