The following slate of officers was instaUed in a beautiful ceremony: Presi dent, Jody Pinion; Adminis trative VP, Margie Liebstein; Communications VP, Laurie Wertheimer; Co-CVS VPs, Linda Goldberg and Paula Gentile; Pro^amming VP, Dorothy Shapiro; Fundraising VP, Abbe Bryan; Treasurer, Shirley Fytelson; Correspond ing Secretary, Merle Pervis; Financial Secretary, Peggy Rovman; Recording Secre tary, Helen Rosenbaum; Counselor, Beth Linderman. • “Children and Stress,” a parenting program which fea tured Marty Todd from Char ter Pines Hospital, was held April 21 at Shalom Park. Bagels and coffee were served. This program proved to be very timely and thought- provoking. • BBW Seniors had a great time at the Older Adult Luncheon held April 19 at Shalom Park. They enjoyed the food and entertainment. • The Spring Special Olym pics were held April 14 at Charlotte Country Day School. Members were there to lend support to the very special athletes. May Activities Once again, BBW members will help out at the bowling tournament for the Senior Games, on Friday, May 6 at Park Lanes. Please call Lynda White, 541-8317, if you are in terested in being a member of our scoring team. • The last lecture of the Alive series, “Morals, Ethics and Attitudes Today” will be Thursday, May 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Shalom Park. Dr. Walter Feldm£ui, clinical director of child and adolescent psy chology at Mecklenburg Men tal Health, will speak on the ethical and moral dilemmas facing the practitioners of modern medicine. Dr. Feld man is one of 600 legal-medical professionals in the country and the only one in North Carolina. This promises to be an infor mative event, so do plan to attend. • The Children’s Miracle Net work Telethon, created by the Osmond Foundation and beised in Utah, is coming soon. Both Charlotte Memorial and Char lotte Rehabilitation Hospitals will benefit, as all monies col lected remain here and go to wards equipment and re search. Our members are need ed as volunteers to answer telethon phones for three-hour shifts. • Members will be doing vol unteer work for the interna tionally acclaimed “Ramesses the Great” exhibit, to be at the Mint Museum from October 1988-January 1989. For fur ther information on orienta tion, contact Paula Gentile, 541-5862. Once again HaLailah brought Passover to 23 shut- ins, needy and elderly mem bers of our conunuriity. Bas kets filled with matzoh, wine, candles and other Passover necessities were delivered with the help of Jewish Family Services. Many thanks to those mem bers of HaLailah who par ticipated in the March of Dimes Walk America on April The Charlotte 1988-1989 board was officially installed on April 27 at the Guest Quarters Hotel on Morrison Boulevard. The evening began with an international cheese, fruit and wine hour, followed by the installation of the board and the induction of new mem bers. The evening concluded with coffee and an array of desserts. Gene Littles, director of player personnel of the Charlotte Hornets, spoke before the lodge at our March dinner held at Chandler’s Restaurant.
