Teen Connection Calendar
Sun., Mar. 17— A...party! Who knows why, but we’re having
a party. Come on along and celebrate with us. Cake, games
and a swim. So bring your imagination, smiles, swimsuit and
a towel for a fun-filled day. Meet in the game room at the
‘J’ at 2 p.m. and we will conclude at 4:15 p.m.
$2 TC Members / $3 Non-TC Members.
Sun., Apr. 7 — Cartoon Crazies! Popcorn, cartoons and fun.
Meet at the ‘J’ and we shall play. See you there, 1-3 p.m.

Sun., Apr.28 — Carowinds here we come! We will be leaving
the JCC at 9:30 a.m. and well return at 5 p.m. Don’t miss
out on this fun-filled day!

Sun., May 5 — It’s an ice skating craze! Come join us and
skate the day away — bring some extra money to get a bite
to eat at the food court. Meet at the JCC at 12:30 p.m. Well
be returning at 4:30 p.m.

Clownin’Around with Major Minor
Be a clown! All the world loves a clown!
So you have always wanted to clown
around. Well, now is your chance to
do so at the ‘J.’ During this 8-week
session Hardin Minor, AKA Major
Minor, will be covering the fine points
of clowning around. You will have the
opportunity to create a clown, the real
clown that may or may not already be in
you. From deciding your clown’s name, _
clothing, face, personality and voice to working on various circus
skill such as juggling, mime, pratfalls, ball spinning, rolla-bolla
and balloonacy, you are bound to discover a part of you that
you never knew existed.
All clowns get down!

will be presenting a program
concerning personal security at
the JCC. This program is for tx)th
boys and girls and men and
women of all ages. Come with
questions and in comfortable
clothes for movement, as there
will be a self-defense demonstra
tion and lesson.

Schoors Out — J’s In
Come and spend your day off with the JCC., We’ll spend the day
bowling in the morning and eating lunch in the park. Be prepared
to show your skills — spares and strikes galore. Don’t forget to
pack a dairy lunch; remember, we’ll be eating in the park. Bring
yourself and a friend too!
Thurs., Mar. 28 $10M/$15NM
Grades 7-8 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Start off spring-break week with ice skating. Granted, the pond
probably won’t be frozen, so we will head straight to the Ice Chalet
for a fun-filled day of spins, twirls and, unfortunately maybe a
few falls. Come prepared to have a great time and a lot of fun.
Bring a dairy lunch and don’t forget to bring socks! See you there.
Mon., Apr. 1 $10M/$15NM
Grades 7-8 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
On Tuesday we will head out to Discovery Place to learn about
the nature of science while having a great time. See shows such
as Hearth’s Chemistry Show and Sparks Anyone. Also discover
the Life Center and the Aquarium Ocean Pool. Bring a dairy lunch
as we will be eating at Discovery Place.
Tue., Apr. 2 $7 M / $10 NM
Grades 7-8 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Wednesday is a day of culture. The Mint Museum will be our
destination. While at the Mint Museum, we will view American
and European paintings, pre-Columbian art, and the history of
the Carolinas. Mexican Textile: Line and Color will be the special
exhibit. Come for a day of culture and fun at the Mint Museum.
Please bring a dairy lunch.
Wed., Apr. 3 $5 M / $7 NM
Grades 7-8 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
We end School’s Out—J’s In week with a trip to the zoo. Promptly
at 9 a.m. we will be heading out to the North Carolina Zoological
Park. What more is needed to say than it’s “a day at the zoo!!”
Bring a dairy lunch as we will be eating at the zoo.

Barak Aberman AZA held their
annual BBYO Sweetheart-Beau
dance in Gorelick Hall at Sha
lom Park. As this year’s theme,
coordinators Stephanie Oxman
and Rafi Goldberg chose “Out
of this World.” BBYOers from
various cities in Eastern Region
(North Carolina and Virginia)
traveled to share in the an
nouncement of Charlotte’s 1991-
1992 Sweetheart-Beau Court.
The Sweetheart Court was
comprised of Inna Livchin,
Roseanne Garfield, Amy Scher,
Buffy Helbein, Susan Wojno-
wich. Sherry Seitlin and Kara
Silverstein. MBA also made a
special presentation to Ashley
Widis. The Beau Court included
Alan Shulimson, Marc Wojno-
wich, Philip Rosenfeld, Roger
Levine, Jon Simon, Rafi Gold
berg and Jason Ett. Selected as
Sweetheart and Beau for Char
lotte BBYO 1991-1992 were
Stephanie Oxman and Scott
Blacker.
