Page 8-THE NEWS-January 1994 ((Commmiity News| ORT Sponsors Women’s Retreat Reception at last year’s Female A-Gender. Crown City Chapter of Wom en’s American ORT invites all Jewish women to its Second Annual Retreat, Feb. 5-6, at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Multi- generational issues will be pre sented, and there will be some thing for everyone during this fun-filled and fantastic program! The weekend begins Feb. 5, with a Manager’s Cocktail re ception, dinner, Havdalah ser vice, pool (remember to bring your bathing suit) and dessert party. Saturday evening enter tainment will be “Shticking Together,” when everyone will share their favorite jokes (pref erably Jewish). On Sunday there will be a sumptuous buffet breakfast, a luncheon and thought-provoking and stimu lating presentations by dynamic speakers. Dr. Heidi Rotberg will present “Stress as Seen through the Eyes of the Jewish Woman;” Maddy Stein, RN, will speak on “Why I Spent the Month of December on an Israeli Army Base;” Marlene Jacoby will be joined by Rabbi James Bennett in a discussion of “BioMedical Ethics and Their Jewish Per spective;” and Sarah Damiano will teach us “Self Defense and Street Smarts for Women.” Cost is $64 for the entire weekend. For participation in only the Sunday portion of the program (excluding breakfast), the cost is $22.
