AT 364-6594 or 364-6596 BJH 30th Anniversary Celebration To Be Oct. 28-29 Blumenthal Jewish Home’s 30th Anniversary celebration will feature National Radio Talk-Show Host, Barry Farber as the speaker for the Saturday evening program. A gala evening is planned for Sat urday Oct. 28 at Bermuda Run Country Club in Advance NC, near the Home. Cocktails and dinner be gin at 7 p.m. followed by a special program. The 30th Annu£d Meeting will be held on Sunday October 29 in the Fair Oaks Commons at the Home. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. with a festive Anniversary Brunch ; the business meeting and the annual CAJWM Drawing will complete the weekend celebration. Everyone is invited to join the Blumenthal Jewish Home in celebrating 30 years of service to our Jewish community. Meet The BJH Trustees Herman Blumenthal is chair man of the Board of Radiator Spe cialty Company in Charlotte, NC. He is a Life Member of the Blumenthal Jewish Home Board of Trustees, has served on the Board since 1979 and is a member of the Finance and Executive committees. Dedicated to the Home for Ellis Beriin is a Life Member of the BJH Board of Trustees and has served on the Board since 1977. He has held the offices of Treasurer, Vice President and was President of the Board from 1990 to 1992. Ellis is chairman of the Home’s In vestment Advisory committee and Herman Blumenthal many years, he has been an active fund-raiser and supporter of BJH as well as being actively involved in the Charlotte community. He is affiliated as Vice President and Treasurer of Wildacres Retreat, Director of Nations Bank Charlotte Board, on the Board of Visitors of Johnson C. Smith University and of Mercy Hospital, is the First Honorary Life President of Temple Beth El in Chariotte. is the Founding President of the Foundation of the Charlotte Jewish Community and is a Trustee of the Blumenthal Foundation. He attended UNC in the class of 1937 and received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Queens College Graduate School in 1986. He and his wife Anita live in Charlotte, NC. They have three sons, Alan, Philip and Samuel and seven grandchildren. Ellis Berman is a member of the Admissions, Fi nance, House and Grounds, Per sonnel, Planning and Executive Committees. Ellis is a retired ac countant and has a BS Degree from UNC Chapel Hill. An active mem ber of his community Ellis has been involved in numerous organizations including the Kiwanis Club, the In stitute of Management Accoun tants, the Telephone Pioneers and the Winston-Salem Jewish Com munity Council. He is a member and past President of Temple Emanuel in Winston-Salem, NC.
