Each year the Vav Class and the Temple Israel Men’s Club com bine efforts in remembering the six million Jews. The incoming B’nai Mitzvah class, as part of their Jewish education program, participate in a month long Holocaust study project which includes each student interviewing either a death camp survivor or someone who lived during this time. The students culminate their experience by joining the Men’s Club in a youth Mission to Washington, D.C. where they spend a full afternoon learning first hand about the Holocaust at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Your donations as part of the Yom HaShoah Yellow Candle Program help to make the Youth Mission possible. For those who have already given, many thanks. For those who are yet to give, please help us ensure the message of freedom and tolerance gets passed to another generation. During the weekend of March 1st, the students assisted the Men’s Club in preparing the 800 Yellow candles for mailing.
