Jewish Cultural Arts Festival Announces Dates, Leadership for 2000
The Charlotte Jewish Cultural
Arts Festival, is coming in
November of this year, and will
once again present myriad oppor
tunities for individuals to immerse

themselves in all things Jewish.
Building on the fabulous success
of last year’s festival, there will be
something for everyone ... from
the youngest to the older members
of our whole community. Plan on
enjoying Jewish film, music, liter
ature and more from Sunday
November 6 through Sunday
November 19, 2000.
Festival 2000 is being co
chaired by three strong, dynamic
women who have demonstrated
true community spirit and leader
ship over the years.
Lee Bierer has lived in
Charlotte for the past five years
with her husband Jeff and children
David and Lucy. Lee and Jeff have
demonstrated true devotion to
Charlotte’s Jewish community
through their involvement in the
JCC, the Jewish Federation of
Greater Charlotte and Temple
Beth El. Lee was responsible for
the marketing campaign that sur
rounded last year’s Festival (it
won formal recognition at the
JCCA Biennial in Boston this
year).
Anne Sinsheimer has lived in
Charlotte for six years with her
husband Mike and children Jake
and Lucy. She has been involved
in the Jewish community at many
levels through The Charlotte
Jewish Preschool, The Jewish
Federation of Greater Charlotte,
Temple Beth El, and the JCC (for
those who don’t know, Anne’s
professional persona has led to her
working on the Shalom Park
Expansion Campaign and the JCC
Gala).
Jodi Valenstein has also been in
Charlotte for six years. She and
husband Greg have two small
children, Michael and Erica.

nity-wide festival, says Anne
Sinsheimer, Festival Co-Chair.
“These organizations working
side by side will ensure that the
festival appeals to everyone —
both Jew and non-Jew can fmd
something to educate, enlighten
and fulfill their need to touch, feel,
taste and smell Jewish culture.”
Preschool and K-2 Summer Camp
Programs for a number of years.
She also facilitated the J’s
Newcomers Program and has been
involved in The Charlotte Jewish
Preschool’s PTO. Jodi took on the
incredible commitment of Chair
for the festival last year and is
returning for her second time in
2000.
