The Charlotte Jewish News - November 2001 - Page 14 Temple Israel News Adult Education Committee In conjunction with the Jewish Community Cultural Arts Festival, Temple Israel’s Adult Education Committee is very excited to announce their 2001- 2002 kick off program. They have arranged for a fun-filled evening of laughter by bringing in nation ally known comedian, Jerry Farb'er on Thursday evening, November 8 at 8;00 PM. Jerry Farber is one of Atlanta’s most recognized and acclaimed per formers. His style is inspired by both jazz and comedy greats from Dave Brubeck and Errol Gamer to Woody Allen and Mark Russell. Jerry has a best-selling book enti tled, Sex, Wealth and Power: How to Live Without Them. In addition, on Thursday evening, January 17, 2002 at 8:00 PM, Temple Israel’s Adult Education Committee will have Dr. Sanford Benjamin present a discussion on Jewish Genetic Diseases. Gorelick Family Lecture: On Wednesday, November 14 at 7:45 PM, the Gorelick Family and Temple Israel, in conjunction with the Jewish Community Cultural Arts Festival will present Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson. Rabbi Artson is the Dean of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles. He is the author of Love Sisterhood News Bonderama To Do: Support Bonderama. Men’s Club News Peace and Pursue Peace: A Jewish Response to War and Nuclear Annihilation. He now writes “Today’s Torah,” a weekly Torah commentary with almost 8,000 internet subscribers. He came from a very liberal San Francisco family, including marching for Eugene McCarthy. He was president of the Democratic Club at Harvard University and he interned with Senator Alan Cranston.
