According to the 20 women who shuttled from the JCC to Charlotte Radiology, the companionship, pampering environment, and caring staff made this event a huge success, but most importantly, a positive experience! ve/u/ii The night was mysterious and magical... kids wers'ldfessed in black, doves disappeared and bunnies appeared out of nowhere. All of this happened Saturday, May 4th at Enchanted Fantasyland at the JCC. For those of you who aren't familiar with mammo grams, they aren’t the easiest screening to endure. "It was nice to have other people around me to talk to and joke with about the procedure instead of sitting there and worrying. It made the whole experience more pleasant”, said Daphne Williams. This was a common response among our younger par ticipants who are now excited to be due for another one this time next year because they will be on the same schedule and can support each other. Our older participants shared with Kim Veith their horror stories of previ ous mammograms. “It was a relief to hear that this experience was a much better one for these women", said Kim. For those who didn't need a mammogram at this time, they [as well as those who did] enjoyed being pampered in Gorelick Hall. They received skin care, massages, osteoporosis screening, spinal exams, healthy snacks, and relaxation. Thanks to Kim Veith, Wellness Director at the JCC, for putting this event together, and Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company for helping to sponsor this event! ■ Pre-kindergartners, kindergartners and 1 st graders came to Gorelick Hall for a night of enchantment. Once the pizza was eaten and the games were played, everyone sat down for the mysterious magical tricks of Adrian Gragnon. Thirty children fell into a magical spell ' watching Adrian perform many tricks such as making at least 5 hoops attach and re-attach into many different shapes and having dirty rags disappear from a soap box. Enchanted Fantasyland is the 3rd wave of Saturday night programming here at the 'J', following Kids Night Out and 2nd Grade Round-Up. All the kids were thrilled to experience a night geared towards them.
