The nasal congestion, persistent pressure between your eyes and in your cheeks,
and frequent thick post-nasal drip makes it obvious you have a chronic sinus
infection. Fortunately, our physicians, William McClelland, M.D., Daron Smith,
M.D., Richard Gillespie, Jr., M.D., and Joshua Levine, M.D., specialize in the
treatment of sinus disease, including fiber optic, outpatient and endoscopic
surgery of the sinuses. They also offer in-office procedures to permanently improve
breathing passages. In addition, our doctors provide comprehensive treatment
for adults and children who experience disorders of the ear, nose and throat,
and each maintains staff privileges at Presbyterian Healthcare Hospitals and
Carolinas Healthcare System.
Call the location closest to you for an appointment. We can recognize the source
of your problems.

through Tova Mirvis’s new novel
The Outside World, is a conflict
often experienced in many reli
gions in today’s world. When the
parents are part of modernity
while the children are entrenched
in tradition, this presents a slight
ly different situation.
In this well-received novel,
readers will follow Tzippy, raised
in the orthodox tradition, and her
sweetheart Bryan - who has
adopted orthodoxy and is now
known as Baruch - and see how
they seek to balance desire and
tradition, devotion and individual
ity.
As Tova Mirvis explains, “I
wanted to look at what it means to
be religious in the modem world.
Is it possible to be part of the out
side world and be religious? What
happens to tolerance and respect
in a family, in a society when peo
ple hold strong, absolutist views?”
The Outside World is available
at the Levine-Sklut Judaic Library
& Resource Center, the public
library and for $13 from local
bookstores.
Everyone is invited to attend -
even those who haven’t read the
book. For additional information
call Linda Levy 704-366-6362 or
Sandra Hirschman 704-867-
