Then the Fundamentals of Judaism Series is for You This twelve-week course will delve into the key aspects of Jewish consciousness. Each class will give you a deeper understand ing of the issue discussed in a way that is practical and relevant to your life, and designed to allow for questions most important to you. Topics to be discussed: Six Misconceptions in Judaism: Exploring Judaism can mean unlearning mistaken ideas as much as it means learning new ones. Pleasure: The key to happiness is to appreciate what you have. Sounds simple. So why are so many people unhappy? Get the tools you need for tapping into unlimited richness, pleasure and joy- ABC’s of Judaism: All sys tems are built on fundamental principles. The building blocks of the English language are the ABCs. So if you want to master reading and writing, you have to first learn the alphabet. Judaism too has its “ABCs” upon which everything is based. Jewish History in a Nutshell: “Those who don’t remember the past are bound to repeat it.” Jewish History is in many ways World History. Understanding the iDon't know cans ab|out events that have touched the Jewish people reflect in the way Judaism is practiced today and the world’s perception of it. Who Wrote the Torah?: Bible critics argue that the Torah was written by various men and later compiled by a proctor. They also point out various historic discrep ancies in the text. We will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Torah was divinely written and could not have been written by men. Free Will - Our Greatest Power: Free will is a uniquely human endeavor that spells the difference between life and death. To maximize life, learn the tools for effective free will. Back to the Source: “To The Source” is an introductory class to the oral law. Contemporary issues are examined through the eyes of classical works, including the Talmud, working up through mod em day responsa. Each subject addressed con cludes with a clear Torah approach to the issue. Women in Judaism: It’s time to lay to rest the canard that Judaism views women as inferior to men. Love and Marriage: The basic building block for marriage is love. The love you create will affect the health of your children, too.
