Textbooks, Teaching Materials and the
Jewish Question
The Charlotte Chapter of
Hadassah is presenting an
extremely important program that
no one in the Jewish Community
should miss.
At 7:30 PM on Wednesday,
March 14, Dr. Sandra Alfonsi,
Chair of the Hadassah Academic
Advisory Board and Chair of
Hadassah Curriculum Watch will
discuss the need for us to pay
close attention to the teaching
materials used in our schools that
present slanted, biased, and/or
inaccurate information on
Judaism, the Holocaust, and
Israel.
She will also discuss the grow
ing coverage of Islam in our text
books and how important it is to
see if its presentation is sanitized,
stylized or in violation of the sep
aration of church and state in what
it says or recommends as activi
ties.
Dr. Alfonsi is an outstanding
speaker who will explain what we
can do on a grass roots level, to
make sure that what children are
being taught in our schools is his
torically, ethnically and culturally
unbiased.
