I ask. She nods in agreement. For the last two months she has been working with her smdents on her last play after 30 some-odd years of teach ing. This play is called Kindertransport and is a heart breaking story about a young Jewish girl sent to live in a foreign country during WWII. This play is not only a his torical masteipiece but a key to the heart and lives of all the Kindertransport children and def initely an image of a lot of hard work done by the students pre senting it. “Working on Kindertransport has been a really great experience for me. The subject (the Holocaust) really touches me, and I can connect to it because of my family and my religion. To me,, this play is very meaningful, and I hope that the audience will get as much out of it as I feel like I have,” says Shayna Bernstein, one The cast of East Meek’s performance of “Kindertransport. ’’ of the lead actresses. “As a Jewish teen myself, I have been haunted by the events of WWII and the memories-of my family’s deaths and troubles.
