After 60 years this Federal District - populated by millions - is set to revert to Alaskan control and its Jews cast out into the Diaspora. A mixture of alternate history and murder mystery, Chabon’s new novel sets up “a classic genre construction as the catalyst for extended investigation into a way of life. Issues of exile and belong ing, of identity, nationality, fi’ee- dom and destiny are examined.” A bestseller has advantages: Some local bookstores and on-line providers are discounting the price Temple Israel Social Club The Temple Israel Social Club, for active couples and singles, invites you to join our social group.
