The Charlotte Jewish com munity is an inspiration. Together, in 2007, we reached new heights in generous living on behalf of Jewish people in Charlotte, Israel and worldwide. The grand total for 2007 is $3,027,390 — a new record high for our Annual Campaign. Todd Gorelick, 2007 Annual Campaign Chair, was delighted by this successful close to the Annual Campaign and is grate ful to a generous community. “I knew Charlotte could do it and it is extremely rewarding to be proven right. Tm very pleased to announce that this year’s Campaign exceeds last year’s total by over $207,000.” All this is due to the tireless commit ment of countless volunteers and the kindness and generosit/ of our donors. Federation professional and lay leaders were delighted by the totals, which bucked recent trends in Federation giving around the country. “This is a wonderful time for our Federation and the Jewish community, because we have more money and can really look at the needs in the community,” said Gorelick. “When the com munity responds so generously we can really increase our con tributions to our beneficiary agencies. We will now be able to provide additional services to assist seniors, Jewish education, and others in need of our assis tance.” As the Annual Campaign pro vides the foundation of the Jewish Federation, the soul and spirit of the Campaign are reflected in the people whose lives are forever changed by the help we give. Funds raised here feed the hungry, heal the sick, educate, console and offer hope to countless people here in Charlotte, Israel and around the world. Wherever there are Jews in need, the Federation is there. Live Generously... It does a world of good. ^ “My favorite words are, ‘Yes, we can help you.’ Federation takes care of people. We help build community through the outstanding organizations that we support. That’s our job. Thanks to the inspiring generosity of over 1700 people who supported this year’s campaign, we will be able to say, ‘Yes, we can help you’ more frequently and with greater impact than ever before. I just love that.” - Todd Gorelick JEWISH^ FEDERATIONS , R L O T T E Local, Global, Eternal Campaign 2007 at a Glance Campaign Total to Date $3,027,390 Number of Contributions Received 1672 Number of New Gifts 130 I i i i i i Applications are now being accepted for the 2008 Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte Allocations process.
