The Charlotte Jewish News - August 2007 - Page 7 2006-2007 Charlotte Jewish Day School Annual Fund The Annual Fund is the single largest fundraising activity at Charlotte Jewish Day School, and we rely on charitable support from parents, grandparents, and com munity friends to meet our goals. A successful campaign allows the school to continue to recruit and retain exemplary faculty mem bers, expand programs, and sup port ever-growing scholarship needs. This volunteer-based fundraising effort happens each year and is necessary to help bal ance the school’s operating budget and keep tuition as low as possi ble. We would like to thank the following contributors to the 2006-2007 Charlotte Jewish Day School Annual Fund. A record $180,000 was raised. My involvement at CJP over the last five years has given me a lot to think about and I have been very reflective lately. When I began here I was the Judaic Specialist for the 151 children enrolled at CJP. That meant lots of new names and faces and since my family had only lived in Charlotte for two years it was a challenge. That was only the first of many, many more challenges. As of today, The Charlotte Jewish Preschool has 243 children enrolled and a staff of over 50 teachers, assistants and adminis trators. It has been very challeng- Denise Abadi ing to keep this growing staff cohesive and to keep our CJP fam ily feeling intact. Our moving into our “new” building, now going into its fourth year was another challenge. We went from space in the JCC to two floors and several empty classrooms. It didn’t take long and we have grown into every inch of our space in the Bernstein Education Building.
