Rosh Hashanah—the Birthday of the World
By Heidi Rotberg, President,
Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah
Birthdays are times of great cel
ebration and as we look to the year
ahead, we see a bright future with
a fresh list of new and improved
hopes and plans to anticipate.
First, however, let us savor the
sweetness of today.
* Enjoy the moment.

* Celebrate this season and all
the bounty this Earth has to
offer us.
* Delight in the love of family
and friends.
* Rejoice in the success of pro
grams and projects accomplished,
exceeding expectations.
None of us exists in a vacuum.
Once again, we recognize how
fortunate we are to be part of our
great organization Hadassah that
provides the opportunities for
each of us to grow and to make a
difference as we work to strength
en our Israel projects and
American programs. Hadassah
SAH
affords us the chance to
meet new friends, pro
vides avenues for indi
vidual growth, educa
tion and enrichment,
and offers us the chance
to perform mitzvot of
communal service as
we strive to improve the lives of
others.
So as we reflect and anticipate
bold new challenges ahead, let us:
* Share success; reward col
leagues.
* Contemplate future projects;
resolve to rethink old ideas.
* Remember at this season, we
are challenged to take a
look at the past and con
template how we can
improve ourselves and seek
ways to create a better
future.
As the approaching New
Year 5768 offers us a
moment of reflection, it’s
also a time of celebration,
for we are thankful to have
accomplished so much. As we dip
apples in honey, we savor the
sweetness of past successes and
hope for an equally sweet year
ahead. We reaffirm our commit
ment to Hadassah and we pray for
peace for ourselves, for our fami
lies, our country and for peace and
stability for our people in Israel.
