The Charlotte Jewish News - March 2008 - Page 10 Tu B’Shevat at the Charlotte Jewish Preschool Life changes. Your insurance should keep up That's our stand. I. , % on. Our days have been so full of fun at CJP. In January we celebrat ed Tu B’Shevat in our individual classes and with our school. Each class did projects related to the holiday: making paper trees, planting seeds, and learning about the environment. We participated in the Environmental Maccabi to earn leaves for the bulletin board on Main Street at the LJCC. Some of the activities we participated in are: Home Water Use Check up, Keep Water Sources Clean, Support Water Conservation in Israel and play acting the story of Noah’s Ark. We listened to stories about sea creatures, and dilferent animals in water environments. We enjoyed learning about ways to care for our natural environ ment, and the customs and tradi tions of Israel during Tu B’Shevat. We continued our Shabbat tradi tion of collect ing Tzedekah for water conserva tion programs in Israel and we honor the importance of taking care of each other and our world (Tikkun 01am). ^ Join JPS for a Toast to Fern Sanderson I can help you with your changing insurance or financial needs. . Beginning at 7:30 PM, enjoy some hors d’oeuvres while you bid on a variety of items, from trips to San Francisco, Barbados and Walt Disney World to tickets to Charlotte’s premier sporting events, including NASCAR’s Sprint All-Star Race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Purchase raffle tickets and earn chances to win $400 toward airline tickets to any destination. Then try your luck in the “diamond drop,” with a one- carat diamond from Diamonds Direct as the prize. “We hope everyone will sup port Jewish education in our com munity and join us in thanking Fern for being such an integral part of it,” says Liat Berger, auc tion chair. “The money that we raise helps ensure that our pre school will continue to provide the best early educational opportuni ties for our children.” Tickets to the event are $36 a couple or $25 per individual. JPS Registration Underway The five-star preschool is enrolling students now for the 2008-2009 school year, with class es for children ages one to five. The two-year-old and three-year- old programs offer three-day and five-day options to choose from. With over 10,000 square feet of space for children to learn and play, teacher-to-child ratios lower than state requirements and a staff that collectively has more than 300 years of teaching experience, JPS provides a wonderful place for children to learn, play and develop. “The first five years of a child’s life are a time of incredible growth,” says Director Jen Lahn. “When deciding on a preschool, we encourage parents to visit us during school hours and talk to • family and friends about their experiences here. It’s an incredible decision that lays the foundation for your child’s future.” For more information on JPS, call 704-364-8395 or visit the school’s website at www.jpson- sardis.org. ^
