More than 80 young adults donned masks, crowns and full-on cos tumes to celebrate Purim on Saturday night, March 22, at Grand Central Uptown. The crowd enjoyed hamantaschen and appetizers and participated in karaoke and costume con tests. The party was thrown by the Young Adult Task Force consist ing of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte, the Levine JCC, Temple Beth El and Temple Israel. Additional sup port was provided by corporate sponsor Chai Expectations. “It was the best Purim ever,” said Sara Bryan, who dressed up with her brother, James, as Steeplechase spectators. Young adults from Columbia, SC, also drove up for the festivities, and the celebrating continued long into the night. Ballantyne Resort Charlotte Bar or Bat Mitzvah is a time for the entire community to celebrate, as another child comes of age. Each child is special, and we join the parents in commemorating their child’s rite of passage.
