Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah
Part of the job as President of
Hadassah is to inform the commu
nity of the missions and programs
Hadassah. Often when asked
“What is Hadassah?” I’m some
times at a loss for words as to how
to relate what Hadassah is and
who are “Hadassah-ites” so to this
means, my first article as
President will be “Who We Are.”
Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist
organization of America, was
founded in 1912 by Henrietta
Szold. Since its inception,
Hadassah has remained unwaver
ing in its devotion to Judaism,
Zionism, and American ideals.
Very simple and to the
point...but .what does this
mean to the uninformed?
As the largest volunteer
organization and the largest
women’s organization in
America, Hadassah is com
mitted to strengthening the
unity of the Jewish people.
In Israel, we accomplish this
through progressive healthcare,
education, youth institutions, vol-
unteerism, and land reclamation.
In the U.S. we reach our goals
through Jewish and Zionist educa
tion programs, Zionist Youth pro
grams, and health awareness pro
grams, as well as by advocating
for issues of importance to women

munity.
As my presidency goes on, the
Hadassah column of CJN will fea
ture various facets of this most
wonderful organization. It will
feature local, region and national
events and personalities so stay

Second Bridge Tournament

Position Available with the
Foundation of Shalom Park
The Foundation of Shalom Park is looking for an
Assistant Facility Coordinator. This wiil start out as a
30-hour per week position and wiil require a varied
schedule, including some nights, weekends, and hol
idays. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of
Kashrut, effective decision making skills, excellent
communication skills (verbal, listening, writing), and
excellent customer service skills. Candidates should
be detail-oriented, very accurate, have the ability to
multi-task, and work effectively both as a team play
er and individually. Candidates must have a minimum
of two years administrative/office experience, and
exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft
Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher. Interested
