On Sunday, October 26, the schedule for the Bernstein Leadership group (BLG) sev enth class was released. Slated to begin in January of2009, par ticipants will meet to engage in discussions and partake in high quality programs presented by local and national authorities and Jewish leaders of our time. Co-chairs, Herb Greenman and Adina Loewensteimer are ener gized about this year’s theme: Make It Matter! More than 200 young people have graduated from the leader ship program and are continuing to invigorate our community with their passion, intelligence and commitment. This year’s program will not only create assets for our Jewish community by cultivating new leaders, but will also give partic ipants a foundation that will make them more effective lead ers in whatever their passion. Nearly 100 women gathered in the St. John Department at Belk SouthPark at 6 PM for net working, wine and hors d’oeu- vres. Women’s Professional Network Chair Fern Ingber Epley welcomed everyone and introduced guest speaker Arlene Goldstein, Vice-President Trend Merchandising, Fashion Director, Belk, Inc., who offered her insight into the “Most Wanted Looks for Fall.” Following Ms. Goldstein’s remarks, the group moved to the Suit Department where the names of two lucky women were drawn to win a free suit - congratulations to Suzie Desamo and Amy with a cause. The Network will meet five times each year and is open to all professional women whether or not they are actively engaged in careers outside the home. All communication for subsequent programs will be by email.
