Guest Speaker Iris Krasnow, author of I Am My Mother’s Daughter, comes high ly recommended by the Dallas i'. - ^ Iris Krasnow Federation as the best speaker they’ve had in sixteen years. The Spring Lecture is the Women’s Division largest cam paign and outreach event. The Spring Lecture Committee, under the able leadership of co chairs Amy Augustine, Ellyn Gross and Lauren Weiser, has been hard at work since early last summer. Committee mem bers are Jenny Meiselman, Janie Meyers, Jane Rabinovitz, Linda Seigel, Lisa Cohen Shapiro and Robin Zimmerman. To offset the costs of the event, corporate and individual sponsorships are being offered. Individual sponsorships are priced at $1500 and include din ner, lecture, dessert, signed books and reserved seating for ten. Corporate sponsorships range from $5,000 to $500 and include a wide range of opportu nities. Iris Krasnow, bom and raised in Oak Park, IL, is a graduate of Stanford University. She became the fashion writer for the Dallas Times Herald, and later became the national feature writer for United Press International in Washington, DC. In her several years at UPI, Krasnow specialized in celebri ty profiles, including Yoko Ono, Billy Graham, Ted Kennedy, Normal Mailer and Queen Noor of Jordan. Krasnow is the author of Surrendering to Motherhood, Surrendering to Marriage, Surrendering to Yourself and / Am My Mother’s Daughter. Her writing has been featured in many national publications, including Parade, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and AARP The Magazine. Krasnow has been a guest on numerous national television and radio programs including Oprah, Good Morning America, Today, All Things Considered, Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power and has been featured many times on CNN. Interviews with Krasnow, and reviews of her work, have appeared in Time, O The Oprah Magazine, Glamour, The New Yorker, U.S. News & World Report and Redbook. A longtime journalism pro fessor at American University, Krasnow lives in Annapolis, MD, with her husband and four teenage sons. She speaks on marriage, childrearing, personal growth and “female genera tional angst” to groups across the country. The evening will begin with dinner at 6:30 PM followed by Ms. Krasnow’s lecture in the sanctuary at 8 PM. A dessert reception and book signing will follow the program at which time all of Ms. Krasnow’s books will be available for sale. A suggested minimum pledge of $50 from each woman attend ing the Spring Lecture will assist us in our efforts to raise $3,500,000 for our 2009 Annual Campaign.
