Rabbi Gold is leader of Congregation Birkat Shalom at Kibbutz Gezer, the sister congre gation of Temple Beth El. She is a beloved congregational rabbi, a trailblazing activist, and one of the founders of Reform Judaism in Israel. She is currently the subject of a case in the Israeli Supreme Court, in which she is suing to receive the recognition and fund ing given her male. Orthodox counterparts in the Gezer Regional Council.
