The Women’s Professional Network offers women the opportunity to engage socially and connect with a cause. The Network meets five times each year and is open to all profes sional women whether or not they are actively engaged careers outside the home. m SUNDAY, AUGUST 30 Newcomer Schmooze 11 AM- 12 noon, Weinberg Center Learn about the Charlotte Jewish community while meet ing new friends. Newcomer Schmoozes are co-sponsored by the Jewish Federation and the Levine JCC. Complimentary bagels, coffee and juice are served. All ages are welcome. Ben-Gurion Society’s Lunch with a Legend Federation’s Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) held its first annual Lunch with a Legend program on June 11. The appre ciation event for donors 25-45 confributing $1,000 or more to the Annual Campaign featured Dr Michael Marsicano as its inaugural “Legend.” Dr. Marsicano shared his personal philanthropy story over an intimate lunch at Zebra Restaurant. The more than 20 BGS members in attendance learned about Dr. Marsicano’s upbringing, his insights on American philanthropy, and his vantage point at the Foundation For The Carolinas to recognize the many contributions Jewish philanthropists make to the Greater Charlotte community.
