Beth Shalom Shabbatones
Beth Shalom of Lake Norman
(www.bslkn.org) announced today
that it is hosting the 6th Annual
Chanukah celebration at the
Mooresville Town Square, located
on the comer of Brawley School
Road and Williamson Road in
Mooresville. The event will be
Sunday, December 13 from noon-
3 PM. The celebration will include
free food, drinks (coffee, hot
chocolate, water), Chanukah crafts
including children’s art projects.
singing, music, and much more.
This event is free and open to the
public.
The highlight of this year’s cel
ebration will include lighting of
the Beth Shalom Menorah, Lake
Norman’s only outdoor menorah.
Donated to Beth Shalom through a
grant from the Arlene and Milton
D. Berkman Philanthropic Fund,
the nine-foot menorah celebrates
the eight nights of Chanukah.
Chanukah commemorates the vic
tory of the Maccabees and the sub
sequent rededication of the
Temple in 164 BCE. When the
temple was rededicated, one day’s
worth of oil miraculously lasted
for eight days. Many of the mer
chants in the Lake Norman area
will be donating goods and servic
es for the event. Attendance at the
previous Chanukah parties topped
350. A similar turnout is expected
this year ^
