Time - You pick the time and we have the mitzvah for you. Place - Locations include JFS offices, senior facilities, homes, temples, etc. You can give back to the com munity by using your special tal ents, skills and time to... * Collect donated food from Panera Bread * Attend a Chanukah party for seniors and lend a hand with serving meals * Drive a senior to our “Simcha for Seniors” program * Serve as a table host for our “Simcha for Seniors” * Cook a meal for a client in need * Conduct an educational pro gram at a facility * Help out in the JFS office * Be a friendly visitor or caller for a lonely senior Jennifer Golynsky is a dedicat ed volunteer for JFS. She says, “I have been visiting a home bound member of our community for nearly a year now. At first I was nervous about how the visits would go, how we would fill the time. Now we are good friends, sharing stories about our families and friends. We talk about the Temple, community events, movies, books and other common interests. I look forward to seeing my friend every week.” Yetta is an elderly, blind resi dent of a facility who loves her JFS friendly visitor David volun teers his time to read a chapter from a meaty mystery aloud to her every week. They get along well and she likes his sense of humor. She hopes he will continue to read to her forever. Natalie Tunney is in charge of the Volunteer Coordination and Senior Oufreach at JFS. She says, “It is an honor to work with our Myra Diuguid, JFS Volunteer, visits Hope and Sally at Sunrise Senior Living. dedicated and capable volunteers. A diverse group of people bring their time, energy and talents to share with our agency and clients. JFS could not be the heart of our community without our fabulous volunteers.
