Over 60 women came together to celebrate, leam and contribute to our community during our first event. Rabbi Faith Cantor welcomed us to our “New Year” and spoke about Rosh HaShana. We enjoyed speed dating with Hadassah, learning about the major projects Hadassah supports. We examined our personal priorities and explored how we would like our lives to change in this New Year. The highlight of the evening was the Great Kugel Cookoff, where we baked sweet Holiday noodle kugels to give to Jewish Family Services. We are already looking forward to our next event - Sushi In the Sukkah . We are planning a very exciting year for Hadassah. If you get the feeling that we never rest in Hadassah you are absolutely right. (You know when we will have time to rest, right?). When we work together to bring good to the world, we feel a responsibility to push ourselves to do more. Over nine decades, Hadassah Medical Orgnization (HMO) has extended its hand to all, without regard for race, religion or ethnic origin. People from all the coun tries in the region turn to Hadassah Hospital for hope and help. They are treated alongside patients from the Mediterranean Basin, Europe, South America and the United States. Hadassah Medical Organization is proud to run one of the most advanced medical centers in the world. Israel has named Hadassah Hospital as a National Center for Medicine, in recognition of the contribution Hadassah makes to the entire country. More than a million people are treated each year in over 120 outpatient clinics and more than 70 departments and specialized units. Hadassah conducts more than half of the hospital research in Israel. Hadassah has created Centers of Excellence: brain trusts of scientists and physicians, inte grating clinical care with the latest laboratory lessons. We are active ly engaged in a wide variety of extensive basic and clinical research projects, looking for new ways to treat current conditions. As President of the Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah, I have met members of our own community whose lives have been improved by Hadassah Medical Organization. Our Chapter’s sup port helps to make sure that Hadassah’s medical and research leadership will continue to improve life all over the world. Now you understand why we can’t rest yet. There is so much to do! Please join us in this journey Please participate in our programs, donate to our projects and join with all your Hadassah friends in our events and activities. ^ SAH Mmann TRAVELS Serving Travelers Since 1979 RDyalCaribbean INTERNATIONAL 704.556.8322 Park Road 704.541.0943 Arboretum 704.892.9020 Lake Norman It's Royal Caribbean month at Mann Travels!
